WHY VULCANUS?

The name Vulcanus was chosen for our grills in honour of the Roman god of fire and smiths. In ancient myth, Vulcanus, also known as Vulcan, was a skilled blacksmith who operated his forge inside an active volcano. In earlier Greek mythology, he crafted magnificent jewelry and powerful weapons for the gods residing on Mount Olympus. His wife was none other than Venus, the goddess of beauty, which served as his muse, inspiring him to infuse his creations with elegance, passion, and sensuality.

The symbolic associations between Vulcanus and our flame grill are as follows:

1. Fire: Representing the source of heat and a convivial ambiance for gatherings.

2. Central Cooking Grid: Featuring two positions for grilling directly over flames or hot embers. It can be raised or lowered using an extension and includes a circular holder for a cast-iron pot or wok.

Vulcanus grills are constructed from a special high-quality steel called COR-TEN, which develops a beautiful ruby-colored patina. Originally used in ship-building due to its resistance to wet and saline environments, COR-TEN ensures the grill's durability, even when exposed to rain, frost, or snow. This steel is both environmentally friendly and requires minimal maintenance, providing a unique patinated appearance.
